{"id":200938,"date":"2025-09-05T00:41:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T00:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/200938\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T00:41:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T00:41:10","slug":"5-freeway-closures-to-affect-commerce-downey-santa-fe-springs-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/200938\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Freeway closures to affect Commerce, Downey, Santa Fe Springs \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Caltrans will close some of the lanes on the 5 Freeway between the 605 Freeway and Washington Boulevard, affecting drivers who travel through the cities of Commerce, Downey and Santa Fe Springs.<\/p>\n<p>The 5 Freeway improvement project has been ongoing since 2023, impacting parts of the 6.5-mile stretch of the freeway each night between midnight and 4 a.m. The project \u2013 and freeway lane closures \u2013 will continue through the fall of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>For the week of Sep. 8, up to two northbound lanes will be shut down between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On and off-ramps on the 5 Freeway between Lakewood Boulevard and Washington Boulevard will also close nightly during the same week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There will be \u201cmultiple\u201d detour signs, but Caltrans urged drivers to avoid the impacted section of the freeway.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea7TRAFFIC ADVISORY \ud83d\udea7<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CaltransDist7?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@CaltransDist7<\/a> is planning multiple overnight closures on I-5 in the cities of Commerce, Downey, and Santa Fe Springs from Monday night, September 8, through Saturday morning, September 13.
