DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) \u2014 NASCAR is gearing up for its return to the Bristol Motor Speedway, known as the “Last Great Colosseum,” for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, and they’re recognizing a local group for the important work it does in the community and beyond. <\/p>\n

Race officials visited God\u2019s Pit Crew in Danville to announce the organization as this year\u2019s Neighborhood Hero, acknowledging their significant relief work. The faith-based group has built and furnished 114 homes for victims of natural disasters and played a crucial role in recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene.<\/p>\n

Co-founder Randy Johnson expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “It’s a great boost, I know, to them that somebody like Bristol Motor Speedway would recognize the efforts that they put forth.”<\/p>\n
