Lonely Island member <\/a> Jorma Taccone shattered his pelvis and detached his sacrum after a recent fall from a 20-foot ladder at his farmhouse in Connecticut.<\/p>\n

The \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d alum recounted the incident from his hospital bed during Tuesday\u2019s episode of the \u201cLonely Island & Seth Meyers\u201d<\/a> podcast. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a barn, and the back half of the barn has a big white wall. And I was like, \u2018Oh, this is great. We can do a big mural,\u2019\u201d the comedian said to his co-hosts Meyers<\/a>, Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg. \u201cThe mural would be very, very large at the top. The apex of this barn is like 25 feet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taccone said that he borrowed ladders, including one that his neighbor described as \u201cbad.\u201d As in, \u201cyou shouldn\u2019t use this ladder. Like, it doesn\u2019t have a footing thing. And I was like, \u2018No, it\u2019s really good.\u2018\u201d <\/p>\n

Taccone was using the ladder to hang lights around the barn to highlight the mural when he fell 20 feet onto his butt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI literally have enough time as I\u2019m falling to be like, \u2018I\u2019m going to die,\u2019\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

The accident was on Aug. 31, his daughter\u2019s fifth birthday, according to Us Weekly<\/a>. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t the coolest way to start the day,\u201d Taccone said.<\/p>\n

Two days post-surgery, Taccone said the doctors expect him to walk again within three to six months. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a really scary week, and we\u2019re glad that you didn\u2019t hit your head and that you\u2019re not dead,\u201d Schaffer said.<\/p>\n

There was only one question left: How long do the hosts have before they can poke fun at the accident?<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, don\u2019t you think it should be instantaneous?\u201d Taccone quipped.<\/p>\n

Taccone\u2019s film \u201cOver Your Dead Body,\u201d which he directed, was recently acquired by IFC in May, according to Deadline<\/a>.
