{"id":201344,"date":"2025-09-05T04:14:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T04:14:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/201344\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T04:14:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T04:14:14","slug":"fatal-crash-reported-on-west-45th-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/201344\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatal crash reported on West 45th Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JSO says the victim was a 49-year-old man who was not wearing a helmet. <\/p>\n<p>JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A 49-year-old man was killed when he was struck while riding a mini bike Thursday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>According to JSO, the man was traveling east on 45th Street West, and a box truck that was going westbound turned left into his path. The mini bike hit the rear wheel of the box truck.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounce dead.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. Robert Hungerford with JSO said the mini bike was &#8220;not authorized,&#8221; and had no lights. While JSO is still investigating, he said, &#8220;That vehicle should not be on the roadway, we do know that much so far.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The man was also not wearing a helmet, Hungerford said.<\/p>\n<p>This marks the 109th traffic fatality in Duval County in 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"JSO says the victim was a 49-year-old man who was not wearing a helmet.
