Glendale is the most affordable Valley city for renters.<\/p>\n
The typical one-bedroom in the West Valley city, home to State Farm Stadium where the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals play, rents for $1,050<\/a>, according to national rent research firm Zumper<\/a>.<\/p>\n Helping renters is the almost 14% percent drop in Glendale\u2019s average rent during the past year. That was the biggest decline among major Phoenix-area cities.<\/p>\n Glendale\u2019s median rent is more than $175 less than the Valley\u2019s median, which is down 8%.<\/p>\n With a median two-bedroom rent of $1,400, Glendale is also the most affordable city for a bigger apartment. That rent is down 6.7% for the past year.<\/p>\n Costs to lease an apartment are down in metro Phoenix\u2019s fifth-biggest city due to the opening of several new complexes to meet the West Valley\u2019s growth, which is being driven by many big new employers nearby, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.<\/p>\n Even more apartments are about to open in Glendale including developer Dominium\u2019s affordable Juniper Square complex for people 55 and older.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s are metro Phoenix\u2019s other most affordable cities for renters:<\/p>\n Phoenix is second with a median one-bedroom rent of $1,210.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Mesa ranks No. 3 with a typical rent of $1,250.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
