Colleyville homeowners will likely see a 12.7% increase in their property tax rate for the fiscal 2025-26 year after the City Council approved a resolution Aug. 19.<\/p>\n

But the state\u2019s increased<\/strong> homestead tax exemption<\/strong><\/a>, which Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law this summer, \u201chelps offset this increase,\u201d the City of Colleyville said.<\/p>\n

The City Council will hold a public hearing for the proposed tax rate Sept. 3, and vote to adopt the budget<\/strong><\/a> Sept. 16. The total proposed budget is $94 million, including a $31.3 million general fund.<\/p>\n

The proposed tax rate for 2026 is $0.311 per $100 of value assessed for tax purposes.<\/p>\n

The city tax rate for the <\/a>current year is 0.276 per $100 of assessed value for tax purposes.<\/p>\n

The average homestead <\/a>taxable value for 2025 is $705,492.<\/p>\n

Sales tax collections for August (reflecting June sales) were up by 7.75% year-over-year and 5.01% year-to-date.<\/p>\n
