{"id":203153,"date":"2025-09-05T20:07:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T20:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/203153\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T20:07:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T20:07:11","slug":"jake-garcia-looking-forward-to-cordele-return-short-track-scene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/203153\/","title":{"rendered":"Jake Garcia looking forward to Cordele return \u2013 Short Track Scene"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jake Garcia has been victorious in the Georgia Summer Nationals at Cordele Motor Speedway in the past.\u00a0 Now, with a break in his NASCAR Truck Series schedule, the native of nearby Monroe aims to return to Victory Lane at his de facto home track.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia won the Georgia Summer Nationals in 2021 and again in 2023.\u00a0 Now racing in the Truck Series, his opportunities to compete in the ASA Southern Super Series are limited but he intends to make the most of them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an event we\u2019ve won twice in the past, so this is a place I like a lot,\u201d Garcia told Short Track Scene.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s a good racetrack for these types of cars.\u00a0Definitely somewhere fun to come race, so that\u2019s why I came and did this on my off weekend. I thought it\u2019d be a fun race to come run.\u00a0 I\u2019m excited for it.\u00a0 I thought we had an okay day in practice yesterday. Maybe made some things better, maybe not, we\u2019ll find out tomorrow night.\u00a0 Either way, it\u2019s always good to get out here and make some laps in Super Late Models and compete with these guys some.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With limited seat time in the Super Late Model this season, Garcia has noticed there is more of an adjustment getting re-acclimated to the cars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt certainly takes me a few laps to get back used to it,\u201d Garcia said.\u00a0\u201cThe last time I drove one of these was at Dominion, I think that was in April.\u00a0 So it\u2019s been four or five months since I\u2019ve been in one of these things and it\u2019s just like the learning curve is, you know, because you missed out on all the technology, whatever the tires changed, and all that stuff.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s like you\u2019re having to relearn some things, but I feel like I remember how to drive from last time and I think, now, I\u2019m back comfortable after being able to practice yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/541552195_796193946112866_4283552985483983757_n-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27639\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>This weekend\u2019s Georgia Summer Nationals is a doubleheader event under the Cordele Superfest banner. It is now sanctioned albeit in non-points fashion by the Southern Super Series.
