Atkins<\/a> and CFTC Acting\u00a0Chairman\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cftc.gov\/About\/Commissioners\/CarolineDPham\/index.htm#full-page-bio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Caroline D. Pham<\/a> said in a\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/newsroom\/speeches-statements\/joint-statement-atkins-pham-090525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joint statement<\/a>. \u201cBy working in lockstep, our two agencies can harness our nation\u2019s unique regulatory structure into a source of strength for market participants, investors and all Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The SEC and the CFTC also announced Friday that they will hold a\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/newsroom\/meetings-events\/sec-cftc-joint-roundtable-sept-29-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joint roundtable<\/a> on Sept. 29 that will discuss the agencies\u2019 regulatory harmonization priorities. The roundtable will be held at the SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C., and will be open to the public, broadcast live on the SEC\u2019s website and available in a recording posted\u00a0later on the SEC website, according to a Friday\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2025-112-sec-cftc-issue-joint-statement-regulatory-harmonization-efforts-will-co-host-roundtable-sept-29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis roundtable represents a pivotal step toward building more coherent and competitive U.S. markets,\u201d Atkins and Pham said in the release. \u201cBy working together to align our regulatory frameworks, the SEC and CFTC can reduce unnecessary barriers, enhance market efficiency and create space for innovation to thrive.
