{"id":203716,"date":"2025-09-06T01:14:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-06T01:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/203716\/"},"modified":"2025-09-06T01:14:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T01:14:12","slug":"two-men-charged-after-allegedly-spraying-unknown-oil-based-substance-on-anzac-memorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/203716\/","title":{"rendered":"Two men charged after allegedly spraying unknown oil-based substance on Anzac Memorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>T\ufeffwo men have been charged following the alleged malicious damage to Sydney&#8217;s Anzac Memorial earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>At around midday on Thursday, the two men were seen allegedly spraying an unknown oil-based substance onto the walls and steps of Hyde Park&#8217;s Anzac Memorial.<\/p>\n<p>The two 61-year-old men have been charged with wilfully damaging or defacing any protected place and destroying or damaging property more than $2000 and less than or equal to $5000.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/0b76f5b6-e388-4487-9cf8-e6b5f84ab280.jpeg\"   alt=\"Two men allegedly sprayed an unknown oil-based substance on the Anzac memorial\"\/>The men allegedly sprayed an unknown oil-based substance on the memorial (Nine)<\/p>\n<p>\ufeffOne man was allegedly spotted spraying substance onto the eastern walls and northern steps of the Memorial.<\/p>\n<p>The other allegedly sprayed a substance on the southern steps<\/p>\n<p>The two left together shortly after.<\/p>\n<p>At about 5.45pm yesterday, the men attended Auburn Police Station, where they were arrested.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>Both men were denied bail and will face court today.\ufeff<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"T\ufeffwo men have been charged following the alleged malicious damage to Sydney&#8217;s Anzac Memorial earlier this week.
