Taylor Swift will not be attending<\/a> the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards this weekend.<\/p>\n

Page Six confirmed that the \u201cCruel Summer\u201d singer will be a no-show at this year\u2019s ceremony, which is taking place Sunday at New York\u2019s UBS Arena.<\/p>\n

Swift, 35, is nominated for the coveted artist of the year award \u2014 going up against Beyonc\u00e9, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen\u00a0and\u00a0The Weeknd.<\/p>\n

The pop star notably attended last year\u2019s ceremony<\/a>, <\/a>where she took home seven Moon Person trophies for her 2024 album, \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department.\u201d<\/p>\n

She even gave a sweet shout-out to now-fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce<\/a> while accepting the award for video of the year for her and Post Malone\u2019s \u201cFortnight\u201d collaboration.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI would always just hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting [the \u2018Fortnight\u2019 music video],\u201d she reminisced. \u201cAnd that one person was my boyfriend, Travis.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then gushed, \u201cEverything this man touches turns into happiness and fun and magic, and I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I\u2019ll always remember that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift was up for 12 nominations that year, including song of the year, video of the year, best direction, best collaboration, best editing, best cinematography, best visual effects, best art direction and song of the summer.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear why Swift won\u2019t be attending this year\u2019s event, though she is fresh off her engagement to Kelce, who popped the question last month. <\/a>The NFL star is currently in Brazil for the Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday.<\/p>\n
