In July 2025, Aaron Reutzel suffered from a broken foot in a crash at Eldora Speedway. The crash sent him into surgery. <\/p>\n
Reutzel flipped during the 30-lap Kings Royal preliminary race at Eldora. He flipped into turn one and was clipped by both Zach Hampton and Steven Snyder Jr.<\/p>\n
The driver was in a battle for the High Limit Racing championship. However, after the injury he was forced to miss 8 High Limit Races. <\/p>\n
He made his return at Port Royal Speedway on September 4th with limited mobility. He finished 11th, narrowly missing a top 10.<\/p>\n
On Friday at the same track, he drove to the race win. Reutzel was fitted with a custom made carbon fiber shoe, just to be able to drive the car. And he drove it right to victory lane. <\/p>\n
He climbed out in victory lane and grabbed a set of crutches. And he was met with boos from the crowd\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cHow low do you have to be to boo a crippled,\u201d Aaron Reutzel stated from victory lane. <\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly, I needed my foot to heal up a little faster. It was taking a long time. Finally, I had enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cReally, it was trying to figure out how to do it, stay safe and not further damage myself. I was honestly nervous when I committed to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis shoe here, it\u2019s basically like wearing my walking boot, my cast. It\u2019s solid but still small enough to get in the car. It would never happen with a regular boot.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYesterday, it took a lot to figure out how to run the car this way, with no feeling. I\u2019m used to feeling the pedal with my toes.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy leg is wore out. This is cool. It\u2019s a little emotional, it\u2019s a lot. That was a big one.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd, I\u2019ve never had to sit out on the sidelines. It sucked. Definitely, one of my better years, ever, speed wise.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the worst time to get hurt. I could think of a lot of other years, if I had to pick a year to get hurt it wouldn\u2019t have been this one.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo trips to the hospital this year. It\u2019s been a really trying year. But, we keep overcoming it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The High Limit Racing drivers will be back in action on the same track for Saturday night\u2019s finale of the event. <\/p>\n
