{"id":204408,"date":"2025-09-06T07:27:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-06T07:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/204408\/"},"modified":"2025-09-06T07:27:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T07:27:12","slug":"suspect-in-westlake-district-stabbing-identified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/204408\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspect in Westlake District Stabbing Identified"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A knife-wielding woman arrested after a SWAT team was called in response to a family disturbance in the Westlake district was identified Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded at approximately 8:20 a.m. Thursday to the 300 block of South Lafayette Park Place, between Hoover and Alvarado streets, following a call about an assault with a deadly weapon suspect, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect, identified Friday as Julian Douglas, was observed by officers standing in the apartment courtyard, armed with a butcher knife and with blood on her hands, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The officers gave several commands for Douglas to drop the weapon, but she refused and entered a nearby residence and barricaded herself in a closet with the knife, police said.<\/p>\n<p>After giving additional orders for Douglas to surrender and drop the weapon, with her not complying, LAPD Metropolitan Division Special Weapons and Tactics personnel were requested to the location.<\/p>\n<p>Several hours into the standoff, chemical  projectiles were deployed.
