Community coverage from WVTM 13<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\nJames Nichols, of Ohatchee, Alabama, left campus on Aug. 28 and was spotted more than 15 hours away in Pawling, New York, the next day, according to Jacksonville State University.<\/p>\n
On Friday, campus police confirmed that he had been found. <\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the moment this report was made, our public safety professionals have worked tirelessly, and we are grateful for the outcome,\u201d said Jacksonville State University Police Chief Michael Barton. \u201cWe want to thank the public for the tips and information shared, as well as our law enforcement partners across the country who assisted in this case. Their cooperation helped us bring this to a safe resolution.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police say no further information will be shared out of respect for Nichols and his family<\/p>\n
