(CBS2) \u2014 If you visited Yellowstone National Park in August, you certainly weren&#8217;t alone.<\/p>\n<p>Yellowstone National Park experienced a slight uptick in visitors this August, with 881,936 recreation visits recorded. This marks a 2% increase from August 2024, which saw 868,259 visits. However, this year&#8217;s August visitation was still 4% lower than the record-breaking August of 2021, when 921,844 visitors flocked to the park.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, Yellowstone has welcomed 3,547,967 recreation visits so far, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/yell\/learn\/news\/25019.htm\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/yell\/learn\/news\/25019.htm\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">National Park Service<\/a>, reflecting a 2% rise from the same period in 2024, which had 3,494,350 visits. Despite this increase, the current year&#8217;s numbers are down 1% from 2021, when the park recorded 3,590,609 visits by the end of August.<\/p>\n<p>The park&#8217;s visitation trends over recent years show fluctuations due to various factors, including closures. In 2022, the park was closed for several days in June due to a historic flood event, resulting in 2,437,607 visits by August.
