YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (CBS2) \u2014 If you visited Yellowstone National Park in August, you certainly weren’t alone.<\/p>\n

Yellowstone National Park experienced a slight uptick in visitors this August, with 881,936 recreation visits recorded. This marks a 2% increase from August 2024, which saw 868,259 visits. However, this year’s August visitation was still 4% lower than the record-breaking August of 2021, when 921,844 visitors flocked to the park.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Yellowstone has welcomed 3,547,967 recreation visits so far, according to the National Park Service<\/a>, reflecting a 2% rise from the same period in 2024, which had 3,494,350 visits. Despite this increase, the current year’s numbers are down 1% from 2021, when the park recorded 3,590,609 visits by the end of August.<\/p>\n

The park’s visitation trends over recent years show fluctuations due to various factors, including closures. In 2022, the park was closed for several days in June due to a historic flood event, resulting in 2,437,607 visits by August.
