Kathy Hilton<\/a> gave an interesting take about a big change her sister Kyle Richards<\/a>\u00a0made amid the latter\u2019s ongoing split\u00a0<\/a>from\u00a0Maurico Umansky<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Kyle and Mauricio’s separation played out on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/a> Season 14, Kathy firmly said she wasn\u2019t on board with one move Kyle made. In Season 14, Episode 14<\/a> of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show<\/a>, Kathy weighed in on why Kyle shouldn\u2019t have done the social media equivalent of taking off her wedding ring,\u00a0removing the word \u201cwife\u201d<\/a> from her Instagram bio. <\/p>\n

\u201cI probably personally would not have taken \u2018wife\u2019 off because that would show my cards, and I would not want him to know that I\u2019m really thinking about [it] \u2014 like, I\u2019m just so busy,\u201d Kathy said. \u201cThat\u2019s why I don\u2019t unfollow people if you have a disagreement, because why give them that attention?\u201d<\/p>\n

Why did Kyle Richards remove ‘wife’ from her Instagram bio?<\/p>\n

Kyle explained in the After Show that she had a \u201chard time\u201d removing the label because it was so ingrained as part of her identity. But, after seeing photos of Mauricio kissing another woman<\/a> at an airport in Greece, she decided to \u201cget the ball moving.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Episode 14, Kyle also struggled to come to terms with Mauricio scrubbing the word \u201chusband\u201d from his own social media account, making the mother of four<\/a> feel \u201cstupid\u201d as she kept her married status public. Plus,\u00a0Kyle knew the tabloids would pick up on the change to her bio for Mauricio to see.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew that in me doing that, people would talk about it because everything is being looked at through a magnifying glass,\u201d Kyle told producers. \u201cSo, I thought, \u2018Well, this is not just a little step. I know that people are going to talk about it, so it\u2019s actually a bigger step because it\u2019s also letting people know I am also moving on.\u2019”<\/p>\n

She also removed “Umansky\u201d from her display name on Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n

In the After Show video above,\u00a0Garcelle Beauvais<\/a> and Jennifer Tilly<\/a> agreed that removing \u201cwife\u201d was Kyle\u2019s way of drawing a line in the sand, primarily because they were under the impression that Kyle still hoped the split would be temporary.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, seeing those pictures with Mau, I would have absolutely, absolutely, taken \u2018wife\u2019 off my Instagram, and I would have changed the locks,\u201d Garcelle told Jennifer and Sutton Stracke<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The trio discussed other ways Kyle could have created boundaries between her and Mauricio. Sutton said her therapist advised her to \u201cchange the locks\u201d during her divorce from Christian Stracke<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took me years to do it,\u201d the southern debutante admitted. Sutton then suggested Kyle talk to \u201cevery mean lawyer in Beverly Hills\u201d to prevent Mauricio from hiring them himself. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Dorit Kemsley<\/a> told Bozoma Saint John<\/a> in the After Show that she believed Kyle felt \u201cembarrassed\u201d by the photos of Mauricio kissing another. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt probably felt like, \u2018You know what? This is appropriate,\u2019\u201d Dorit said of Kyle\u2019s decision. <\/p>\n

And, while on the topic of Kyle changing her Instagram bio, the Beverly Beach designer questioned whether she did the same amid her ongoing separation<\/a> from Paul \u201cPK\u201d Kemsley<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cOh, shoot,\u201d she explained while scratching her head and checking her phone. \u201cMaybe I did!\u201d<\/p>\n
