One man died Friday afternoon after being shot by police<\/a> in Jersey City, according to the state Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The identity of the civilian and the identities of the officers involved have not been made public as of late Saturday morning. <\/p>\n

The shooting occurred at about 1:23 p.m on John F. Kennedy Boulevard, the attorney general\u2019s office said. No additional details were released.<\/p>\n

A report by PIX11 News<\/a> in New York said a person had fired shots at the vehicles of Jersey City police officers, and the officers returned fire and injured the suspect.<\/p>\n

News 12 New Jersey<\/a> also reported that the suspect had fired shots at two police vehicles.<\/p>\n

A video posted on social media Friday afternoon showed a motionless man on the ground surrounded by police.<\/p>\n

Officials from the Jersey City Police Department and mayor\u2019s office did not return requests for comment from NJ Advance Media. Under state law, the attorney general\u2019s office is required to investigate all police-involved shootings.<\/p>\n
