JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 Music and vibes are returning to Lift Ev\u2019ry Voice and Sing Park on Sept. 14 for the Pop-Out live concert series finale.<\/p>\n

Odd Rod is a spoken word artist who will be performing about a sensitive topic.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote a suicide poem,\u201d Odd Rod said. \u201cIt saved my life for all these years, I have been saving lives with more poetry and more storytelling. It is also National Suicide Prevention month. I will be able to share my story and encourage people to keep their lives from that stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Larry Love started this movement and is the curator of the Pop-Out. He said he is thankful for the support and is ready to open this up for other artists from other cities. He said the concert series will happen again next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw families from toddlers to elders who were there to see us get together and have such a great time and come together in unity and great energy,\u201d Love said.<\/p>\n

Erin Kendrick brings artists together, performances and other programming to the park with the hopes that the community is engaged and embraces it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been obviously one of the more popular events that we\u2019ve had. It is a time for families to gather [and] friends to gather. It is a safe space. It is an excellent event.<\/p>\n

She said she wants it to be a place that always commemorates the Johnson brothers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is really in the spirit of Lift Every Voice and Singing. This is the one you want to attend,\u201d Kendrick said.<\/p>\n

The concert series finale takes place on Sept. 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Lift Ev\u2019ry Voice and Sing Park.<\/p>\n
