The New York Yankees<\/a>‘ AL East clash with the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> got interrupted Sept. 6 by a rain delay.<\/p>\n

The Yankees were leading, 2-1, when the tarp came out midway in the sixth inning.<\/p>\n

“Today’s game is officially under a rain delay,” the Yankees announced on social media. “We will update you with information as it becomes available.”<\/p>\n

No time has been announced to resume the game. It would be an official game if called due to the weather.<\/p>\n

The forecast in the Bronx shows at least a chance of rain for the rest of the night. The chance of rain hovers around 40% to 45% until 8 p.m. when it goes up to about 60%.<\/p>\n

The Yankees are four games back of the Blue Jays in the division after the loss on Sept. 5 in the first game of the series.<\/p>\n

Luis Gil pitched six strong innings before the delay while Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells each picked up RBIs.<\/p>\n
