A woman is in critical condition after hitting a deputy’s patrol car on SH-249.<\/p>\n
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas \u2014 A woman is in critical condition after a major crash involving a Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputy on State Highway 249 Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
It happened on the northbound lanes of SH-249 near Cypress Road. According to the HCSO, a deputy was outside his patrol vehicle, assisting a disabled vehicle, when he saw another vehicle rapidly approaching.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the driver, an adult woman, struck the rear of the deputy\u2019s patrol car. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said it appeared she was possibly impaired and not wearing a seatbelt.<\/p>\n
The deputy was not injured.<\/p>\n
All northbound lanes were shut down following the crash and have since then reopened.<\/p>\n
