{"id":206598,"date":"2025-09-07T03:10:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-07T03:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/206598\/"},"modified":"2025-09-07T03:10:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T03:10:17","slug":"ai-technology-targets-traffic-safety-aims-to-reduce-40000-annual-u-s-roadway-deaths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/206598\/","title":{"rendered":"AI technology targets traffic safety, aims to reduce 40,000 annual U.S. roadway deaths"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AI technology is being used all around us to help bolster safety, and a recent innovation is aiming to help prevent traffic accidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt really is one of the biggest crises in the U.S., to see 40,000 people a year dying on our roadways,\u201d Vice President of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rekor.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/www.rekor.ai\/\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">Rekor Systems<\/a> Paul Zamsky said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SEE ALSO | <a href=\"https:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/nation-world\/school-shootings-ai-artificial-intelligence-zeroeyes-security-prevention-firearm-gun-detection-threat-law-enforcement-notification-parents-children\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/nation-world\/school-shootings-ai-artificial-intelligence-zeroeyes-security-prevention-firearm-gun-detection-threat-law-enforcement-notification-parents-children\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">Schools across the nation looking into AI to boost security, prevent mass shootings<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rekor Systems was founded in 2017, with the goal of using AI and roadway data to make drivers safer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDetecting where crashes have happened without having to wait for a 911 call or identifying the areas that are riskier so that we could identify potential preventative measures and work with agencies to help prevent crashes from happening,\u201d Zamsky said.<\/p>\n<p>Zamsky said the technology has been out in pilot form for a few years now across the USA, and said it is more than just using historic data of crash hot spots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s weather, there\u2019s contextual driving behavior like are you swerving, accelerating, decelerating, is there an event happening, is there construction happening,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Data from cars helps the company identify risky roadways and possible solutions.
