A Harris County deputy was involved in a major two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 249 at Jones Road, according to the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office. (Click2houston – 2025)<\/p>\n

HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 A Harris County deputy was involved in a major two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 249 at Jones Road, according to the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The crash was reported in the 22300 block of Highway 249. Northbound lanes were expected to be closed for over an hour but reopened at 5:25 p.m. <\/p>\n

What happened<\/b><\/p>\n

HCSO said a deputy was out of his patrol vehicle tending to a disabled vehicle, when he spotted a vehicle rapidly approaching. <\/p>\n

The driver reportedly struck the rear of the patrol car. <\/p>\n

The older adult female driver of the striking vehicle has been transported to a hospital in critical condition. <\/p>\n

The deputy was uninjured. <\/p>\n
