{"id":207252,"date":"2025-09-07T09:18:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-07T09:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/207252\/"},"modified":"2025-09-07T09:18:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T09:18:09","slug":"eric-adams-attends-powerbroker-john-catsimatidis-birthday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/207252\/","title":{"rendered":"Eric Adams attends powerbroker John Catsimatidis&#8217; birthday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After Mayor Eric Adams <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/05\/us-news\/adams-defiantly-insists-hes-staying-in-nyc-mayoral-race-while-ripping-andrew-cuomo-zohran-mamdani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">defiantly vowed<\/a> to stay in the Big Apple mayoral race on Friday, he headed to Cipriani 42nd Street\u00a0to celebrate the 77th birthday of billionaire<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/09\/08\/celebrity-news\/chuck-schumer-anthony-weiner-at-john-catsimatidis-birthday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> John Catsimatidis <\/a>at the annual 77 WABC radio gala.<\/p>\n<p>The dress code for the 500-guest bash was, \u201cblack tie glamour with patriotic sparkle.\u201d Chandeliers at the storied venue glowed red, white and blue, while recognizable all-American lookalikes \u2014 from Abraham Lincoln to the Statue of Liberty \u2014 mixed with the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Even with Adams present, guests urged Catsimatidis to<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/10\/07\/society\/john-catsimatidis-mulling-mayoral-run-if-eric-adams-is-ousted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> run for mayor of New York<\/a> again. (He politely declined.) But when his wife Margo Catsimatidis was introduced as the proverbial \u201cFirst Lady of New York City,\u201d \u201cthe ballroom erupted in cheers,\u201d a spy said. <\/p>\n<p>John Catsimatidis celebrated his birthday, and WABC radio, with friends, family, colleagues and power players.<\/p>\n<p>The night\u2019s theme was black-tie patriotic. <\/p>\n<p>The Post reported that President Trump last weekend rang up billionaire businessman Catsimatidis, who has ties to both Adams and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/31\/us-news\/curtis-sliwa-calls-for-feral-cat-colonies-to-claw-back-at-nyc-rat-problem-caped-crusaders-at-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">GOP nominee Curtis Sliwa<\/a>, to voiced his dismay about what might happen if Zohran Mamdani, the socialist Democratic front-runner, wins in November.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/04\/us-news\/trump-sets-deadline-to-thin-field-in-crowed-nyc-mayoral-race-hes-going-to-do-whatever-he-has-to-do\/#\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">As Adams schmoozed at Catsimatidis\u2019 party, country icon Lee Greenwood appeared on stage to sing \u201cGod Bless the USA,\u201d followed by tenor Christopher Macchio, former \u201cSNL\u201d star Joe Piscopo and famed radio host Bruce \u201cCousin Brucie\u201d Morrow. <\/p>\n<p>Guests urged the supermarket magnate, with wife Margo, to run again for mayor.<\/p>\n<p>Vinnie Medugno sang Tony Orlando\u2019s \u201cTie a Yellow Ribbon\u201d \u2014 since Orlando himself couldn\u2019t make the event \u2014 for guests including Curtis Sliwa, Red Apple Media president Chad Lopez, Emily Pankow, Cushman &amp; Wakefield\u2019s Bruce Mosler, County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Nassau\u00a0County Republican Party Chairman\u00a0Joseph\u00a0Cairo, former Douglas Elliman CEO Howard Lorber, Hamptons restauranteur Zach Erdem, p.r maven Todd Shapiro and the Catsimatidis family, including wife Margo, daughter Andrea and son John Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Catsimatidis\u2019 actual birthday is Sept. 7. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWant more celebrity and pop culture news?\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStart your day with Page Six Daily.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>John and Margo also used the occasion as their customary September bash for any pals with Virgo birthdays \u2014 a tradition they started years ago at the Metropolitan Club and moved to Cipriani to coincide with the supermarket magnate\u2019s birthday and his WABC radio gala.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Eric Adams attended the event fresh from a Gracie Mansion speech.
