While Samsung has confirmed its first triple-folding smartphone will arrive this year<\/a>, we haven’t seen the device in the flesh just yet. Thankfully, a series of leaks have painted a picture of what to expect<\/a> from the Galaxy Z TriFold (as it’s expected to be known) over the past few weeks. We now have another leak to add to that list. <\/p>\n

Similar to the Galaxy Z TriFold leak we spotted last week<\/a>, this leak also comes in the form of an animation that will be available within the smartphone. The animation posted to X\/Twitter by TechHighest<\/a> gives us an additional look at one of the functionalities of the upcoming trifold phone: capturing selfies using the rear cameras (via 9to5Google<\/a>).<\/p>\n

We’re inching closer towards the Galaxy Z TriFold’s launch<\/p>\n

The process of capturing a selfie with the rear cameras is similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7<\/a>, but with the addition of another display\/panel. This leaked animation also gives us another look at the smartphone’s folding and unfolding mechanism. There are no particular surprises in this department either, as they align with what we’ve previously seen from the same source.<\/p>\n

These animations are nowhere near enough for us to gauge how the Galaxy Z TriFold actually feels in the hands. But in our time with the Huawei Mate XT last year<\/a>, we found that the form factor has a lot of promise.<\/p>\n

However, the ultra steep price tag is expected to deter a lot of prospective buyers. For reference, the Mate XT hit select markets last year for the equivalent of $2,800<\/strong>. So we’re looking at a similar or potentially higher selling price for the Galaxy Z TriFold. <\/p>\n

Some reports have suggested that Samsung’s first trifold phone will be available only in some markets initially, with a wider release slated for 2026. We have also learned that Samsung may host an event later this month<\/a> to unveil the Galaxy Z TriFold, though there’s no actual confirmation of this yet.<\/p>\n

What we do know is that this won’t be the last we hear about this foldable, with the leaks expected to intensify over the next several weeks.<\/p>\n
