And when they come <a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-jersey\/hoboken\/mystery-fireworks-were-likely-mtv-not-hoboken-italian-fest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">around the 9\/11 anniversary<\/a>, folks are sometimes even more unnerved.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re hearing fireworks on Sept. 7, which is a Sunday, here&#8217;s why.<\/p>\n<p>The fireworks were postponed from Saturday due to the weather.<\/p>\n<p>Around 4:20 p.m. in Hoboken, some fireworks could be heard \u2014 likely testing in advance of a display slated for Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>Hoboken&#8217;s 99th annual Italian Festival, otherwise known as the Feast of the Madonna dei Martieri, began on Thursday and runs through Sunday.
