Additionally, if your kettlebell weight stays the same throughout the duration of the challenge, you\u2019ll likely hit a plateau from doing the same move over again, Tamir says. (Your body will get used to how challenging this routine is, so your progress will level out.) <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"16\" class=\"css-i9p093 emevuu60\">However, if you gradually increase the weight of your kettlebell or your reps each week, you may see an increase in muscle strength, says Tamir. If it\u2019s too light, you can end up overextending at the top of the movement, which may also set you up for back pain and back injuries, Bomgren says. But that\u2019s not always the case. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"28\" class=\"css-i9p093 emevuu60\">Lastly, kettlebell swings don\u2019t work every muscle equally, and this challenge isn\u2019t a complete workout program by itself, says Bomgren. \u201cFor a more balanced fitness routine, you&#8217;d have to pair swings with other strength exercises, mobility, and recovery days, too,\u201d she adds. <\/p>\n<p><strong data-node-id=\"29.0\">Whether You Should Do 100 Kettlebell Swings a Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"30\" class=\"css-i9p093 emevuu60\">The cons of this challenge may outweigh the pros unless you have really solid swinging technique and the knowledge of which weight is most appropriate, experts agree. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"31\" class=\"css-i9p093 emevuu60\">\u201cI do not recommend doing 100 kettlebell swings a day, but I do recommend learning proper kettlebell swing form and then incorporating them into your weekly fitness routine,\u201d Bomgren says, advising doing three sets of 10 to 15 reps two to three times a week. \u201cI personally add swings to most of my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/g42268457\/28-day-workout-challenge-bodyweight-lower-body\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/g42268457\/28-day-workout-challenge-bodyweight-lower-body\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"lower-body workouts\" data-node-id=\"31.1\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"noopener\">lower-body workouts<\/a>, especially if I&#8217;m targeting my glutes and hamstrings,\u201d Bomgren adds. <\/p>\n<p>Related Story<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"33\" class=\"css-i9p093 emevuu60\">When choosing weights, especially if you\u2019re a beginner, Bomgren recommends lifting 5 to 10 percent of your body weight. Use that momentum to stand and swing the kettlebell out in front of your body, up to shoulder height.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"37.2\">Thrust the hips forward, and engage the glutes and core as you stand up straight.
