{"id":209008,"date":"2025-09-08T01:28:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T01:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/209008\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T01:28:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T01:28:10","slug":"biggest-arizona-news-stories-from-sept-5-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/209008\/","title":{"rendered":"Biggest Arizona news stories from Sept. 5-7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 From a pileup crash on Interstate 17 to a Scottsdale murder suspect found in Phoenix, here are some of the top Arizona news stories from Sept. 5-7.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-traffic\/i-17-phoenix-fatal-crash\/5746540\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">1 dead after multivehicle crash on north Phoenix freeway<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A person was killed in a multivehicle collision on Interstate 17 in north Phoenix on Friday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The pileup occurred on the northbound side of I-17 near Anthem just before 9 a.m. and backed up traffic for hours, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n<p>Four vehicles, including a truck pulling a trailer, were involved in the crash\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ArizonaDOT\/status\/1963999743949820065\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">near Daisy Mountain Road<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-news\/scottsdale-labor-day-murder-arrest\/5746858\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Suspect in Scottsdale Labor Day murder taken into custody<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The suspect police were looking for in connection to a Scottsdale Labor Day murder has been arrested, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The Scottsdale Police Department\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/15r5w6ksZe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">said<\/a> that Matthew Dieringer, 35, was taken into custody on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The department also noted that Dieringer had a history of experiencing homelessness and he would befriend others so they would help find him a place to stay.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-health-news\/honorhealth-acquire-evernorth\/5746377\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">HonorHealth to acquire health care group with 18 metro Phoenix clinics<\/a><\/p>\n<p>HonorHealth, one of the largest nonprofit health care systems in Arizona, announced Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to acquire Evernorth Care Group.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.evernorth.com\/evernorth-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Evernorth Care Group<\/a>, which operates 18 metro Phoenix primary care clinics, currently serves as the medical practice division of Cigna HealthCare of Arizona.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.honorhealth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">HonorHealth<\/a>\u00a0already has over 200 primary, specialist and urgent care locations along with nine acute care hospitals. It will take over Evernorth Care Group\u2019s clinics, which serve nearly 80,000 patients, after the deal closes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-business\/hawes-crossing-in-mesa\/5746701\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mesa\u2019s Hawes Crossing to gain retail hub as mixed-use project takes shape<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As residential construction continues inside of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-news\/approved-development-plan-mesa-cover-1100-acres\/2820117\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Hawes Crossing<\/a>, an 11.6-acre mixed-use project is taking shape at the center of the 1,100-acre Mesa master planned community.<\/p>\n<p>The yet-to-be-named mixed-use center at Hawes Crossing is being developed by Las Vegas-based commercial real estate firm Fore Property Company, featuring more than 200 multifamily apartment units and 20,000 square feet of retail space.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-restaurant-news\/j-alexanders-to-open-in-fall\/5746702\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">J. Alexander\u2019s to open Arizona location in East Valley this fall<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Steakhouse chain J. Alexander\u2019s will open a new restaurant in Arizona in November.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant, which is part of Houston-based SPB Hospitality\u2019s portfolio of restaurants, will open in Chandler at 7111 W. Ray Road, in the building formerly occupied by Buca di Beppo.<\/p>\n<p>The first J.
