{"id":209442,"date":"2025-09-08T05:38:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T05:38:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/209442\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T05:38:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T05:38:16","slug":"cobourg-man-arrested-on-firearms-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/209442\/","title":{"rendered":"Cobourg man arrested on firearms charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cobourg-police-service.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"Cobourg man arrested on firearms charges\"\/>\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>A Cobourg man has been arrested and charged with firearm-related offences.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Cobourg police received information of the presence of unregistered firearms in a home in Cobourg.<\/p>\n<p>The victim reported to police that the resident had shot at them some months ago.<\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Investigation Branch began an investigation and later that evening executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a home on Campbell Street.<\/p>\n<p>Officers located two long guns during the search.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was not present at the location at the time of the search.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, a 41-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with the following offences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discharge Firearm with Intent Careless Use of Firearm,<\/li>\n<li>Pointing a Firearm,<\/li>\n<li>Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,<\/li>\n<li>2 counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm,<\/li>\n<li>2 counts of Unauthorized possession of Firearm and<\/li>\n<li>2 counts of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The accused was held for a bail hearing.
