{"id":209709,"date":"2025-09-08T08:07:20","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T08:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/209709\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T08:07:20","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T08:07:20","slug":"yankees-aaron-judge-still-impacted-by-injury-during-second-game-back-in-outfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/209709\/","title":{"rendered":"Yankees&#8217; Aaron Judge still impacted by injury during second game back in outfield"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aaron Judge was back in right field for the second time in three days against the Blue Jays and he was tested early as he deals with the effects of the flexor strain in his right elbow.<\/p>\n<p>The results were mixed, at best, with Judge\u2019s normally strong arm clearly impacted by the injury.<\/p>\n<p>But while the Blue Jays were able to run on Judge again, he helped them <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/07\/sports\/yankees-pull-out-series-win-over-blue-jays-to-creep-closer-in-al-east\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seal a huge 4-3 win<\/a> with a diving catch of George Springer\u2019s sinking line drive to end the top of the fourth and save a run, since Nathan Lukes was on second base in a one-run game.<\/p>\n<p>Still, teams will no doubt follow Toronto\u2019s lead and continue to test Judge\u2019s arm.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Judge reacts after making a diving catch during the Yankees\u2019 Sept. 7 win over the Blue Jays. AP<\/p>\n<p>In the top of the second Ernie Clement doubled into the right field corner.<\/p>\n<p>Judge raced over and made a fairly strong throw to second that nearly got the shortstop.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the throw was tracked at just 70 mph. <\/p>\n<p>Prior to the injury, Judge\u2019s throws from the outfield averaged 90 mph this season.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Judge catches a fly ball during the Yankees\u2019 Sept. 7 win over the Blue Jays. Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>With runners on second and third and one out later in the inning, Nathan Lukes hit a fly ball to medium right field and Judge threw to Jazz Chisholm Jr., serving as a cutoff man, rather than firing home. <\/p>\n<p>Clement scored without a throw.<\/p>\n<p>The ball continued to find Judge in right, as Springer opened the third with a double to right, after going in awkwardly standing up.<\/p>\n<p>This time, Judge\u2019s throw was clocked at just 62 mph.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Boone said he thought Judge\u2019s throws were \u201cgood\u201d and would continue to talk with Judge and Giancarlo Stanton about how often they feel comfortable playing the outfield.<\/p>\n<p>And the manager added he didn\u2019t consider replacing Judge late in the game with Jos\u00e9 Caballero.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Judge makes a throw during the Yankees\u2019 win over the Blue Jays on Sept. 7.
