PHOENIX \u2014 The Scottsdale Fire Department announced this week it\u2019s planning to build a new ambulance annex near one of its Valley stations.<\/p>\n

The new ambulance annex will near Fire Station 601 in southern Scottsdale near Miller and McDowell roads<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The facility will be expanded to have a dormitory and base for ambulance workers that will feature several faculties, including a kitchen, dining area, bathrooms and medical storage. It will also include three vehicle bays which will house two ambulances and a supervisor vehicle.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis expansion supports Scottsdale\u2019s city-operated ambulance program, ensuring continued rapid and efficient response to both emergency and non-emergency calls,\u201d Scottsdale Fire Chief Tom Shannon said in a news release<\/a> Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Scottsdale will be hosting an open house on Sept. 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Eldorado Community Center<\/a> to provide more information to residents about the project.<\/p>\n
