launching a vote of no confidence in the board<\/a> this evening.<\/p>\nIt’s left Rodgers \u2013 who is out of contract at the end of term \u2013 to pick up the pieces for this Sunday\u2019s Premiership trip to Kilmarnock.<\/p>\n
Ex-Celt Charlie Mulgrew is convinced the Irishman has the experience to plot a path through the mayhem and continue to produce performances.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cBrendan is a professional guy. He\u2019s been a top manager operating at the top level for years now so he\u2019ll get his head down now and coach the players that are there, you\u2019d imagine.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd make sure they understand the plan and what\u2019s needed in the final year of his contract.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegardless of what the plan is for him, he needs to put his best foot forward and make sure of that and I\u2019m sure he would do that anyway.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s the way he is. That\u2019s what he\u2019s done for Celtic over the years. I expect them to go on a run and improve in the final third on the park.\u201d<\/p>\n
Under-fire Celtic chiefs claimed the club couldn\u2019t push the boat out for signings due to UEFA rules \u2013 and even the \u00a380m in the bank is untouchable.<\/p>\n
But fans point to massive profits and rivals Rangers spending more than \u00a320m despite making losses in recent seasons.<\/p>\n
Celts will resume league duties with a six point lead over the Ibrox side but Mulgrew is convinced the next few weeks will make or break the season.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI think the next 10 games will be massive for both clubs. We\u2019ll see where both Celtic and Rangers are after that. It\u2019s clear and everybody knows Celtic\u2019s final third stuff\u2019s not been good enough. So a couple of extra signings and I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll be working on it. We\u2019ll see where they are then.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve still won games this year. The Rangers game was disappointing but they\u2019ve still not conceded a goal in the league.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo they\u2019re defensively good, looking at the positives. But I\u2019m aware that the final third is where they need to do better in terms of dynamic play in the final third, having that bit more creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Celtic fans have revolted on the back of the failure to tool up ahead of the dismal Champions League exit and the chaos around incomings and outgoings in the final days of the window.<\/p>\n
But Mulgrew said: \u201cThe Champions League\u2019s done. We\u2019ve done our moaning about it, me included. So, move on. It\u2019s the Europa League now.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody wanted each other to be in the Champions League. They never got there for certain reasons.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo let\u2019s go now with the Europa and let\u2019s see how good we can do in that and domestically take care of those games as well. It\u2019s a reasonable draw in the Europa League.<\/p>\n
