San Antonio\u2019s Elsewhere Too<\/a>, the hotly anticipated new North Side bar and restaurant featuring a 42-foot curved flower tunnel and a 52-foot Ferris wheel, is finally nearing the finish line. The sequel to the River Walk\u2019s fanciful Elsewhere Garden Bar and Kitchen says it will open the first week of October<\/a>, just in time for carnival season.<\/p>\n

The debut will come almost a year after the groundbreaking<\/a> at 4507 N. Loop 1604 W, but construction delays pushed back the original plans. A social media walkthrough<\/a> states that the owners are installing the finishing details, including landscaping, fire pits, misting fans, and a swing pavilion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been busy weaving a little more magic than expected,\u201d the team wrote in an update. \u201cSorry for the wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

Owners Terrin Fuhrmann and Nolan Ellis first teased<\/a> the ambitious project in May 2022, promising that the near-Shavano Park hangout would have the \u201csame feeling and message\u201d as its popular downtown predecessor, which became an overnight smash after it took over Andrew Weissman\u2019s The Luxury in early 2020.<\/p>\n

Although the gigantic Ferris wheel will take center stage, the new spot will have the same feel as the original. Guests will be immersed in a fairyland complete with twinkling lights draped in the trees, topiaries, quirky art installations, and a Victorian-style greenhouse for private parties.<\/p>\n

\u201cElsewhere’s aesthetic is very intentional,” Fuhrmann previously told CultureMap. “It provokes a positive emotional reaction with the foliage, the colorful flowers, the supportive phrases sprinkled throughout the property, the whimsical art installations, and the fire and aerial performers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like Elsewhere Bar and Kitchen, the upcoming hot spot will welcome all ages. The owners have not yet shared exact details about the menu. Still, it is expected to be similar to the River North flagship, which serves beer, wine, and seltzers alongside pub grub like cauliflower wings and Philly cheesesteak fries.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere Too will add to the thriving entertainment district near the Loop 1604\/I-10 interchange, which has seen a boom in hospitality projects like PopStroke<\/a> and the upcoming Pinthouse Brewing<\/a>.
