Breads Bakery<\/a> is heading to Williamsburg, a spokesperson tells Eater. The New York bakery that is famous for its babka has signed a lease at 470 Kent Avenue, near South 11th Street. It\u2019s opening as part of the 3.75-acre Williamsburg Wharf <\/a>development that will feature 950 residences across the five residential towers. The 4,700-square-foot bakery will have an open kitchen where customers can watch the baking in action, along with exclusive items made just for Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

The bakery will join chef Eyal Shani\u2019s <\/a>yet-to-be-named restaurant at the complex. This marks Breads\u2019 second Brooklyn outpost \u2014 the first opened earlier this year in Brooklyn Bridge Park. It adds to its roster of Manhattan locations, including Union Square and Rockefeller Center. It\u2019s expected to open in 2026.<\/p>\n

More health inspection problems<\/p>\n

A slew of restaurants are allegedly hiding their lower-than-A ratings, according to<\/a> the New York Post. They include Nolita\u2019s Citizens of Soho<\/a> and a location of Serafina<\/a>. Eater New York has been reporting on the dearth of inspectors <\/a>(and low salary) that prevents some restaurants from getting their follow-up inspections from the city in a timely manner. In addition, a former inspector argues that the current point system needs an overhaul<\/a>. The city updated the inspection process in June.<\/a><\/p>\n
