{"id":210507,"date":"2025-09-08T15:27:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T15:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/210507\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T15:27:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T15:27:08","slug":"can-sunset-cliffs-be-saved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/210507\/","title":{"rendered":"Can Sunset Cliffs Be Saved?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The San Diego City Council will vote on Tuesday on a proposal to save Sunset Cliffs from ongoing erosion. <\/p>\n<p>The council\u2019s vote will be on a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiego.gov\/climate-resilient-sd\/projects\/coastal-resilience-master-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Coastal Resilience Master Plan<\/a>\u00a0that would remove parking now on Sunset Cliff\u2019s edge. <\/p>\n<p>Other changes include re-configuring Sunset Cliffs Boulevard from a two-lane, north-south road to a single southbound lane.<\/p>\n<p>There would also be a new walkway for pedestrians and cyclists.<\/p>\n<p>The city\u2019s Environment Committee  OK\u2019d the plan earlier this summer. <\/p>\n<p>Richard Aguirre, a resident of the neighborhood who founded &#8220;Save Sunset Cliffs&#8221; 25 years ago, tells CBS 8 he is opposed to the proposal.\u00a0&#8220;The Cliffs are like an old surfboard. They have some dings and some wounds on them that we need to repair.
