{"id":210875,"date":"2025-09-08T18:57:38","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T18:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/210875\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T18:57:38","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T18:57:38","slug":"cognition-ai-defies-turbulence-with-a-400m-raise-at-10-2b-valuation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/210875\/","title":{"rendered":"Cognition AI defies turbulence with a $400M raise at $10.2B valuation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cognition AI, the startup behind AI coding agent <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/04\/03\/devin-the-viral-coding-ai-agent-gets-a-new-pay-as-you-go-plan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Devin<\/a>, has hit a $10.2 billion valuation after raising $400 million, marking a jump from the company\u2019s $4 billion valuation earlier this year, reports <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-09-08\/cognition-ai-cinches-10-billion-valuation-with-new-funding\" target=\"_blank\">Bloomberg<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founders Fund, the Peter Thiel-backed VC, led Cognition\u2019s latest round, with participation from existing investors like Lux Capital, Joe Lonsdale\u2019s 8VC, Elad Gil, Definition Capital and Swish Ventures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In July, Cognition <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/14\/cognition-maker-of-the-ai-coding-agent-devin-acquires-windsurf\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">acquired AI coding startup Windsurf<\/a>, just days after <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/11\/windsurfs-ceo-goes-to-google-openais-acquisition-falls-apart\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google poached<\/a> the startup\u2019s CEO, co-founder, and research leads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The raise comes after serious growth for Cognition\u2019s core product. The startup\u2019s annual recurring revenue from Devin has climbed to $73 million in June, up from $1 million in September 2024. Net burn has remained under $20 million since its founding two years ago, per Bloomberg. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the company has built a reputation for placing strict demands on its workers.
