SAN ANTONIO \u2014 A 20-year-old man has been arrested more than three years after he’s accused of killing two teenagers, according to SAPD.<\/p>\n
Joshua Reyes has been charged with capital murder for allegedly shooting two teens aged 14 and 15 respectively in July 2022.<\/a> At the time, the two victims were identified as cousins 14-year-old Edgar Emiliano Rojas and 15-year-old Edgar Evarado Menchaca.<\/a><\/p>\n According to police, Reyes had messaged both victims on social media, resulting in them meeting up in the 1700 block of Schley Avenue. Police say the three ended up in a vehicle, one of the victims in the front seat, the other in the back. Somehow, Reyes shot both teens in the vehicle. One died at the scene; the other died at the hospital.<\/p>\n Police say detectives were able to locate Reyes by going back and looking through the social media messages and matching Reyes to the location. There was also evidence in THC vapes on the scene, what the victims and suspect was allegedly exchanging. The vapes were taken to a laboratory and DNA results were found, matching Reyes.<\/p>\n Witnesses also saw Reyes allegedly tampering with the scene, collecting shell casing after the shooting happened.<\/p>\n \u201cAlthough several years have passed, our detectives did not give up,” a representative with SAPD said after Reyes’ perp walk. “Our detectives are diligently, actively and always working on these cases.\u201d<\/p>\n It’s still unknown if Reyes and the victims knew each other or had met up prior.<\/p>\n \u201cTheir relationship is not as important as the fact that nobody deserves to die,\u201d SAPD said.<\/p>\n Reyes does not have a criminal history and SAPD is not searching for any other suspects.\u00a0<\/p>\n
