PHOENIX \u2013 A firefighter assigned to the Dragon Bravo Fire in northern Arizona died in the line of duty on Monday, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The firefighter, whose name was not released, suffered a cardiac emergency while actively involved in suppression repair efforts, according to the Southwest Area Incident Management Team 3.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur hearts go out to his family and friends,\u201d authorities said in an announcement. \u201cThe wildland fire community is inherently interagency, and a line of duty death impacts us all.\u201d<\/p>\n
The National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner are working together to investigate what happened.<\/p>\n

The injury occurred while he was working near the North Rim Entrance Station, authorities said.<\/p>\n
A paramedic quickly provided medical help, but efforts to revive the firefighter were not successful.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe deeply appreciate this firefighter\u2019s dedication to his profession and to the communities threatened by wildland fire,\u201d authorities said.<\/p>\n
