(TNND) \u2014 Cassie Donegan, Miss New York, was crowned Miss America 2026 after competing against 52 delegates across all 50 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico. <\/p>\n
“Miss America has always been a powerful springboard for ambitious women to turn their dreams into reality,” Donegan said. “I am honored to represent an organization that provides scholarships, resources, and a platform for women to lead\u2014and I’m deeply grateful for the chance to bring that mission to life.”<\/p>\n
On top of the coveted title, she also took home $70,000 in scholarship money. The 27-year-old is the eighth woman to win from New York. <\/p>\n
Donegan has a background in arts education. For the past two years, she has focused on youth theatre. She built a professional performance career across the country and is a member of an organization called the Actors’ Equity Association. <\/p>\n
She is also a businesswoman. Donegan serves as the Chief Operations Officer of Southern Sitter LLC, a women-led childcare company she expanded into a multi-state business. The business model allows women to have flexible career opportunities. <\/p>\n
Following her win, Donegan will serve as the official national brand ambassador for Miss America Opportunity.
