{"id":212047,"date":"2025-09-09T05:43:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T05:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/212047\/"},"modified":"2025-09-09T05:43:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T05:43:13","slug":"hh-bagels-building-out-in-mandarin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/212047\/","title":{"rendered":"H&#038;H Bagels building-out in Mandarin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"h839012-p1\" class=\"permalinkable\">New York City-based H&amp;H Bagels is building-out in Mandarin, which would be its second Northeast Florida location after opening in late June in Saint Johns in St. Johns County.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p2\" class=\"permalinkable\">The city of Jacksonville issued a permit Sept. 8 for Kaneco Construction LLC of Jacksonville to build-out a 1,142-square-foot space at 10025 San Jose Blvd. at a project cost of $275,008.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p3\" class=\"permalinkable\">The store is where Capriotti\u2019s Sandwich Shop closed in Crown Point Plaza. Sleiman Enterprises is the landlord. The site brochure shows H&amp;H Bagels in a 1,536-square-foot space.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p4\" class=\"permalinkable\">The site is at southeast San Jose Boulevard and Crown Point Road in the Beauclerc area north of Interstate 295.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p5\" class=\"permalinkable\">H&amp;GH Bagels said through a spokesperson in May that it expects to open at least five units in Northeast Florida, with the first in Saint Johns and the second this fall in Mandarin.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p6\" class=\"permalinkable\">A third is expected at the Beaches, but the company said in May it does not have a confirmed location.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p7\" class=\"permalinkable\">The others would also be within the metro Jacksonville area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"media-element file-default fr-fic fr-dii\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/hh_bagels_seinfeld_t850.jpg\" title=\"H&amp;H Bagels had a cameo in an episode of the \u201cSeinfeld\u201d TV show.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>H&amp;H Bagels had a cameo in an episode of the \u201cSeinfeld\u201d TV show.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p8\" class=\"permalinkable\">In St. Johns County, H&amp;H Bagels opened at 3735 Longleaf Pine Parkway in Saint Johns in the Shoppes of Aberdeen, whose brochure shows a bagel restaurant in 1,237 square feet of space on a corner next to Crave Cookies. Ash Properties is the landlord.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p9\" class=\"permalinkable\">H&amp;H Bagels had cameos in New York-centric shows such as \u201cSeinfeld\u201d and \u201cSex and the City.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p10\" class=\"permalinkable\">H&amp;H Bagels, which offers breakfast, lunch and catering, says it has been a New York City institution since 1972 and has begun a national expansion through franchising.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p11\" class=\"permalinkable\">In Northeast Florida, \u201cour franchisee, Josh Witt, who is a local resident, identified Jacksonville as an ideal location to bring H&amp;H Bagels,\u201d the spokesperson said in May by email.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p12\" class=\"permalinkable\">There will be five in Witt\u2019s territory. State corporate records show the officers are Joshua Witt and Irwin Witt, who are associated with other restaurant franchises.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p14\" class=\"permalinkable\">The Witts also have registered Jax Beach Bagels Corp. with the state, but no restaurant location was indicated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p15\" class=\"permalinkable\">H&amp;H Bagels lists 11 locations open in New York City (5); at John F. Kennedy International Airport (1) and LaGuardia Airport (1); Florida (2) in Boca Raton and Saint Johns; and one each in Santa Monica, California, and in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p16\" class=\"permalinkable\">The site shows five restaurants opening in 2025 with two in Florida (Tampa and West Palm Beach); and one each in Los Angeles; Chicago; and Knoxville, Tennessee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p17\" class=\"permalinkable\">No other Northeast Florida sites were listed.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p18\" class=\"permalinkable\">HHBagels.com says \u201cour dough remains kettle-boiled in New York City water, then baked locally on-site all day, every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p19\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cOur original recipe and traditional water bagel method has become synonymous with \u2018the New York bagel,\u2019\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h839012-p20\" class=\"permalinkable\">The company uses unbromated and unbleached flour with no artificial preservatives.
