His mother says he is in pain “mentally and physically.”(Source: KTVT via CNN)<\/p>\nFORT WORTH, Texas (KTVT) – A Texas family wants answers after their 8-year-old son was injured in a hit-and-run while riding his bike.<\/p>\n
Liam Park, 8, was playing with friends just before 8 p.m. Friday outside the Mercantile Square Apartments in Fort Worth. While riding his bike, the boy was hit by a driver in a black SUV, police say.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy friend tried to tell me that a car was coming, but I didn\u2019t know because I didn\u2019t hear him. I turned my head, and it just kind of hit me,\u201d Liam said. \u201cI felt like I was going to pass out because my eye vision started to \u2013 I started to not be able to see good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Liam\u2019s mother, Baylea Christiansen, says a few of his friends ran to their apartment to tell her what happened to her son.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t ask any questions. I just ran,\u201d Christiansen said. \u201cHe [Liam] was covered in blood from his face to his arm. He has bruising on his bottom half.\u201d<\/p>\n
Liam suffered severe road rash across his face and on his arms. He was taken to the hospital and has since been released. His mother says he has no life-threatening injuries but is in pain \u201cmentally and physically.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThey told me I don\u2019t have any broken bones. I just have skin injuries. It\u2019s hard to sleep, and it hurts,\u201d Liam said.<\/p>\n
Since Friday, Liam\u2019s parents have been knocking on doors, asking neighbors if they have any information that can help identify the driver. Witnesses told them the man got out of the SUV and looked at the injured 8-year-old before speeding off.<\/p>\n
Christiansen has this message for the driver: \u201cI hope that you\u2019re found, and I hope that you\u2019re going to pay for that because for all you know, my son could be dead right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fort Worth Police say the Traffic Investigation Unit has been notified and will take over the investigation.<\/p>\n
