Motion<\/a> raised $60 million in recent funding rounds to continue developing its agentic work suite that provides artificial intelligence (AI) applications and agents designed for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).<\/p>\n

The company raised the new funding across Series B, Series C and Series C2 rounds, bringing its total raised to $75 million and its valuation to $550 million, it said in a Monday (Sept. 8)\u00a0press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Motion\u2019s agentic work platform includes the company\u2019s AI Employees, which are agents that autonomously complete work inside the platform, according to the release.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s AI applications and agents help with a growing number of tasks, including ones in team project management, knowledge management, documents, sheets, calendar, meeting scheduling and business intelligence, the release said.<\/p>\n

Recent additions to Motion\u2019s platform include an\u00a0Inbox<\/a> that that helps users see, manage and act on updates from their teammates; an\u00a0AI Docs<\/a> assistant that helps users create first drafts, revise content and get answers from documents; and an\u00a0AI Agenda<\/a> that generates daily lists that show today\u2019s tasks, tomorrow\u2019s priorities and overdue items, according to the company\u2019s blog posts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Motion\u2019s platform is currently used by more than 10,000 SMBs, per the press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur customers are SMBs who make up half of America\u2019s GDP \u2014 everyday American businesses like IT services, marketing agencies and construction companies,\u201d Motion CEO and Co-founder\u00a0Harry Qi<\/a> said in the release. \u201cThey are being left behind in this AI world, and we are going to help them win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stacey Bishop<\/a>, partner at\u00a0Scale Venture Partners<\/a>, which led the Series C round, said in the release: \u201cWhen I spoke with Motion customers during diligence, it was clear Motion\u2019s agentic work suite solves a very real problem: these businesses want to use AI to run better, but don\u2019t know where to start. Motion makes that leap possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The PYMNTS Intelligence report \u201cInnovators and Cost Cutters: Growth Strategies for SMBs<\/a>\u201d found that one-third of SMBs use AI and that\u00a0nearly all who use the technology find it effective.<\/p>\n

Verizon Business<\/a>\u2019\u00a02025 State of Small Business Survey<\/a>\u00a0found that 38% of\u00a0SMBs<\/a> are integrating AI into their operations. Twenty-eight percent are deploying AI for marketing and social media, 24% use it for written communications, and nearly a quarter use it to power digital personal assistants that can help with customer service.\u00a0<\/p>\n
