Still, some had been expecting a little bit more. Here’s what Apple decided not to include in today’s event, some of which may still come by the end of the year.

AirPods Pro 3 with infrared camera sensor

For the past few days, there were rumors indicating that Apple would release two AirPods Pro 3 versions: the one that was actually announced today, and an infrared camera-enabled version.

While it is true that the camera-enabled AirPods Pro 3 were rumored to be released next year, there was no mention of that during the event. That doesn’t mean the rumor isn’t true, but rather, that Apple may be holding on to it until closer to its actual release date, so it doesn’t preempt any camera-less AirPods Pro 3 sales during the Holiday season.

AirTag 2

A few months ago, we reported that, based on a reliable source, Apple was aiming at a fall release for the AirTag 2, possibly around the iPhone event.

The iPhone event came and went, and obviously, there’s still no AirTag 2.

Interestingly, Bloomberg reported back in June that “the new AirTag is nearly ready, having been prepared for launch over the past several months,” following another report saying that said Apple could launch it through a press release, rather than during an event.

That may very well be the case, unless Apple decides to have another event before the end of the year, which would traditionally happen in October.

M5 iPad Pro

Just yesterday, the rumor mill started to discuss the possibility of Apple announcing the M5 iPad Pro during the Awe Dropping event. That was primarily based on claims made by a leaker account on X, and the fact that the first iPad Pro was announced exactly 10 years ago to the date.

But Apple had other plans. The M5 iPad Pro was a no-show, leaving iPad Pro users waiting at least a few more weeks before breaking the piggy bank again.

Apple Vision Pro 2

While it would make sense to see the rumored updated Apple Vision Pro be announced alongside new Macs, some still expected to see anything Apple Vision Pro-related during the Awe Dropping event. That wasn’t the case.

Still, the second-gen Apple Vision Pro is expected to be announced later this year, with an updated chip that could either be an M5, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, or an M4, according to Mark Gurman.

Apple TV 4K with A17 Pro

Currently, most rumors seem to point to the fact that the next-gen Apple TV 4K will get an A17 Pro chip, which theoretically could enable a few Apple Intelligence-related features.

For a while now, there have been rumors that the device will be announced before the end of the year, but today wasn’t it.

HomePod mini 2

Although the HomePod was the first product featured in the very first scene of today’s event, that is pretty much all the screen time it got.

As with most products from this list, the HomePod mini 2 is still expected to launch late this year, although there is little detail on what to expect.

F1 streaming rights deal

Yesterday, Liberty Media CEO Derek Chang said that “(h)opefully we’ll have something to talk about relatively soon “ when asked about the dispute for the U.S. streaming rights of next year’s F1 season.

While his full quote left little room to interpret it that someone other than Apple was the frontrunner in this particular race, it left a little wiggle room to try and infer when the deal would actually be announced. And while the iPhone event would have made quite a stage for a splashy announcement, it looks like the deal still needs a bit more tweaking before it can be officially announced.

A black iPhone 17 Pro

While many users assumed Apple would announce a black option for the iPhone 17 Pro lineup, that wasn’t the case. The lineup is limited to three colors: silver, deep blue, and cosmic orange.

On the upside, even users who spent years pointing out that Apple didn’t bring fun colors to its iPhone Pro lineup were surprised by how orange the cosmic orange really is.

Here’s everything Apple did announce

Be sure to check out our news hub for the full “Awe Dropping” event coverage.

Accessory deals on Amazon

FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.

[17
611,158,67,132,68
0":"post-213890","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mobile","8":"tag-mobile","9":"tag-technology","10":"tag-united-states","11":"tag-unitedstates","12":"tag-us
["GET
