The period covers 10 months under former President Biden and two months under President Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Revisions during the past decade ranged between -0.4% and 0.3%, with today\u2019s revision stepping out of the range at -0.6%. That\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/news\/dow-jones-loses-steam-on-largest-jobs-growth-revision-since-2009\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">largest revision, in percentage terms, since 2009<\/a>, adding to the list of concerning labor market signals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/news\/alarming-jobs-revision-signals-economy-is-weakening-warns-jpmorgan-ceo-jamie-dimon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cI think the economy is weakening,\u201d JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said<\/a> on Tuesday in an interview with\u00a0CNBC after reviewing the revision data. \u201cWhether it\u2019s on the way to\u00a0<a data-autolink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/economic-indicators\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recession<\/a>\u00a0or just weakening, I don\u2019t know.\u201d He added that the Fed will likely lower rates at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/calendars\/economic\/fed-interest-rate-decision-6969\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">September 16-17 Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting<\/a>, however, that move might not \u201cbe consequential to the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Investors generally perceive rate cuts as a positive factor for stocks, although that might not be the case this time amid elevated valuations and worrisome macroeconomic data, according to JPMorgan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/news\/fed-rate-cut-could-be-a-sell-the-news-event-warns-jpmorgan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">concerns that the September 17 Fed meeting which delivers a 25bp cut could turn into a \u2019Sell the News\u2019 event<\/a> as investors pullback to consider macro data, Fed\u2019s reaction function, potentially stretched positioning, a weaker corporate buyback bid, and waning participation from the Retail investor,\u201d wrote JPMorgan Global Head of Market Intelligence Andrew Tyler in a note.<\/p>\n<p>Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent added that he agrees with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/news\/fed-is-choking-off-growth-with-high-rates-says-bessent\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trump\u2019s view that the \u201cFed is choking off growth with high rates.\u201d<\/a> Lower <a data-autolink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/economic-indicators\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">interest rates<\/a> make borrowing cheaper, which can stimulate the economy by encouraging spending and investment.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Apple <a data-ticker=\"AAPL\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tipranks.com\/stocks\/aapl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">(AAPL)<\/a> closed lower after revealing its new lineup of iPhones. The tech giant debuted the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the first ever iPhone Air.
