Employees of Hollywood Tow called the LAPD on September 8 after smelling something foul from the car, per <a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/human-remains-discovered-in-trunk-of-tesla-impounded-at-hollywood-tow-yard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KTLA 5<\/a>. The car had been towed to the lot from the Hollywood Hills after it was abandoned. The body was found in a bag, and there is no confirmation of the corpse\u2019s identity. Sources told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2025\/09\/09\/dead-body-found-in-car-registered-singer-d4vd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TMZ<\/a> that the body was chopped up and found decomposing. The Tesla has Texas license plates, per KTLA, and, according to Eyewitness News, is registered in Hempstead, Texas, to the singer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmfcyjxw2000h3b79b4v43od4@published\" data-word-count=\"62\">D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has not yet publicly commented on his reported connection to the car or, potentially, to the body. \u201cI start media training tomorrow guys wish me luck \u2026,\u201d he wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DOOqzvPDt7B\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent Instagram post<\/a> on September 5.
