TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Bear harvest permit applications for the 2025 season open on Friday.<\/p>\n
Applications for Florida\u2019s regulated bear hunting season can be submitted starting September 12 at 10 a.m. through September 22 at 11:59 p.m.<\/p>\n
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a bear harvest permit is required to harvest a bear in one of the four selected Bear Harvest Zones. The season runs from December 6 to 28. <\/p>\n
A hunting license is also required.<\/p>\n
To submit an application, you must be at least 18 years old by October 1. There is a $5 fee per application, plus handling fees. Applicants can submit as many applications as they want during the submission period.<\/p>\n
Permits will be distributed by random drawing. <\/p>\n
Only one permit will be issued per person, and they are nontransferable.<\/p>\n
Permits cost $100 for residents and $300 for nonresidents. <\/p>\n
