Waxahachie, which saw its Week 2 matchup with Coppell canceled due to inclement weather,<\/a> has one game under its belt, a 44-13 win over Ennis<\/a> to open the season. Meanwhile, Forney is 2\u20130 and fresh off a 38-21 win over A&M Consolidated<\/a>. These teams also met in Week 3 of the 2024 season, when Waxahachie edged Forney 37-34. This year\u2019s matchup should be just as competitive, with both teams fielding top talent. Four-star Notre Dame commit Javian Osborne<\/a> has already rushed for 414 yards and six touchdowns through two of Forney\u2019s games. Waxahachie junior quarterback Jerry Meyer III<\/a>, a TCU commit, passed for 235 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 1 win over Ennis.<\/p>\n

When South Oak Cliff entered last year\u2019s matchup with 6A state power Longview, it was 0-2 with losses to multi-time state champions Galena Park North Shore and Duncanville. SOC ended up beating Longview 45-44 on the road<\/a> after that start and the program is off to an even better one in 2025 ahead of the rematch in Dallas. This year\u2019s South Oak Cliff team (1\u20131) boasts a 41-31 win over North Shore<\/a> and hung with Duncanville last week in a 35-28 loss<\/a>. The two-time state champion finishes its tough pre-district slate against Longview, which is 2\u20130. SOC is averaging 408 yards of offense per game and has found success with junior Jayden Williams at quarterback. Williams, who made his varsity debut against North Shore, has passed for 328 yards and four touchdowns through two games.<\/p>\n

Defending 6A Division I state champion North Crowley has continued its win streak through Week 2 of the 2025 season with victories over District 11-6A members Lancaster and DeSoto to start the year<\/a>. The champs meet a Denton Guyer team that beat Arlington Martin 41-21 last week<\/a> and boasts top talent on defense in three-star junior defensive lineman Khyren Haywood, four-star junior edge Zane Rowe and three-star linebacker Kaedyn Cobbs, who rushed for four touchdowns in last week\u2019s win. North Crowley, which beat Guyer 49-28 last year, claims two players who appear in The Dallas Morning News\u2019 top 100 recruiting rankings for the Class of 2026<\/a>, with four-star offensive lineman John Turntine III, a Texas commit,<\/a> topping the list. North Crowley also boasts three-star junior running back Kiante Ingram, who rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-27 win over DeSoto last week.<\/p>\n

Junior quarterback Tre Williams already has eight touchdown passes on the season and has thrown for 513 yards through two games. Williams and Lewisville will visit a 1\u20131 Rockwall team that fell 28-20 to Austin Lake Travis last week<\/a>. Junior running back Kaydon Castro rushed for 180 yards and two scores in the loss to the state power.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, McKinney (1\u20131) beat Garland Lakeview Centennial 28-14 last week<\/a>. McKinnney edged Plano 28-26 when the teams met in Week 3 last year. The 2025 rematch will open District 6-6A play for both teams, which have both been more run-heavy through the first couple weeks of the season. Plano senior running back Chance Culley leads the team in rushing with 237 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. McKinney sophomore quarterback Kip Killough has run for 149 yards and two scores.<\/p>\n

Timberview shutout Kimball 27-0 in Week 1<\/a> and fell 20-12 to Denton Ryan last week<\/a>. Argyle beat Timberview 24-14 in 2024 to open District 3-5AII play and eventually secured the district title.<\/p>\n

This will be a contest between two of the top teams in District 4-6A. Southlake Carroll, a 6A Division II state finalist in 2024, is undefeated through two games with wins over Midland and Hebron<\/a>. Byron Nelson fell 38-21 to Lewisville last week<\/a>, but opened the season with a 30-7 victory over Wolfforth Frenship<\/a>. Carroll beat Byron Nelson 33-21 when the teams met last year to open district play. Sophomore safety\/wide receiver Nolan Hawkins has seven catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns through two of Byron Nelson\u2019s games. Carroll receivers Blake Gunter and Brock Boyd, an Ohio State commit,<\/a> have combined for 380 yards and five touchdowns.<\/p>\n

But the program had a strong showing in its 28-20 win over Sachse in Week 1<\/a>. Three-star sophomore Carter Zingelmann rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns in his debut as Coppell\u2019s new starting quarterback. Arlington Bowie has started 1\u20131 this season, having lost 38-36 to Keller in Week 2<\/a>. Junior Maxwell Nichols has starred at wide receiver for Bowie, boasting 18 catches for 318 yards and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n

The program claims the Dallas-area\u2019s top 5A rusher in senior running back Cam Newton<\/a>, who has recorded 474 yards and seven touchdowns through two games. Walnut Grove (2-0) beat 6A program Little Elm 49-24 last week<\/a> and meets Frisco Emerson in Week 3 to open District 4-5AII play. Emerson (1\u20131) is looking to bounce back this week after losing its last game 33-0 to Frisco Reedy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both teams dropped games in Week 2, with Red Oak losing 41-34 to Arlington Seguin<\/a> and Cedar Hill falling to Allen in a 38-0 shutout<\/a>. They\u2019re each looking for their second win of the season. Red Oak beat Cedar Hill 41-14 when the teams met last season. Four-star Notre Dame commit Brayden Robinson had seven catches for 77 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The Red Oak senior wide receiver enters this year\u2019s Cedar Hill game with 11 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n

The two programs have 14 UIL state championships between them with Celina holding nine and Gunter five. Both won state titles in 2024, with Celina claiming the 4A Division I state championship and Gunter winning the 3A Division II state championship. Celina (2-0) beat state-ranked Waco La Vega 36-7 last week<\/a> and Gunter is coming off a 28-6 win over Prosper Richland<\/a>, Prosper ISD\u2019s newest high school. When the teams met in 2024, Celina beat Gunter 38-7.<\/p>\n

Both Marcus and Pearce opened the 2025 season with wins. Marcus edged Keller 31-28 in Week 1<\/a>, when four-star junior quarterback Colton Nussmeier passed for 181 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for two more. Pearce beat Wylie 24-21 in Week 1<\/a>. Senior running back Jeremiah Lyons rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.<\/p>\n
