They\u2019re worth a combined $684 billion.<\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s super-rich have never been wealthier. The 400 richest people in the country are worth a record $6.6 trillion \u2014 $1.2 trillion richer than they were last year, due mainly to surging stock markets and \u201cAI mania,&#8221; Forbes said.<\/p>\n<p>It took a net worth of $1.7 billion to make the Forbes 400 a decade ago, and those with fortunes of $3.8 billion were \u201ccomfortably within the top half of the ranking,\u201d Forbes said, noting that now, \u201cthat lofty sum is the minimum required.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg grew his wealth by creating the financial information and media company, Bloomberg, in 1981. He owns 88 percent of the business, which has estimated annual revenues of nearly $15 billion, according to Forbes. <\/p>\n<p>He was also New York City&#8217;s mayor from 2002 to 2013, and launched an unsuccessful bid for president in the 2020 race.<\/p>\n<p>Other New Yorkers in the ranking include: <\/p>\n<p>Nationwide, Elon Musk remained at the top of the list. He also became the first person on the list to surpass $400 billion. <\/p>\n<p>That was $152 billion richer than Larry Ellison, the second-richest American, and a difference that\u2019s more than Warren Buffett\u2019s entire net worth, Forbes said.<\/p>\n<p>The 10 richest people in America are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Elon Musk, 54, $428 billion, Tesla, SpaceX (Texas) <\/li>\n<li>Larry Ellison, 81, $276 billion, Oracle (California) <\/li>\n<li>Mark Zuckerberg, 41, $253 billion, Facebook (California) <\/li>\n<li>Jeff Bezos, 61, $241 billion, Amazon (Florida) <\/li>\n<li>Larry Page, 52, $179 billion, Google (California) <\/li>\n<li>Sergey Brin, 52, $166 billion, Google (California) <\/li>\n<li>Steve Ballmer, 69, $153 billion, Microsoft (Washington) <\/li>\n<li>Jensen Huang, 62, $151 billion, semiconductors (California) <\/li>\n<li>Warren Buffett, 95, $150 billion, Berkshire Hathaway (Nebraska) <\/li>\n<li>Michel Dell, 60, $129 billion, Dell Technologies (Texas) <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This year\u2019s ranking includes 14 newcomers, including four who are worth $10 billion or more.<\/p>\n<p>President Donald Trump ranks 201st on the list with a net worth of $7.3 billion.
