1.\u00a0Senate Republican campaign arm urges Rep. Wesley Hunt to pass on potential run<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

National Republicans are pressuring U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Houston, to stop toying with the possibility of a U.S. Senate run \u2014 and instead throw his support behind longtime U.S. Sen. John Cornyn as he faces what\u2019s expected to be a bitter primary battle against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.<\/p>\n

Based on the release of statewide ads, Hunt appears to be trying to raise his profile. He is potentially laying the groundwork to jump into the Republican primary for Senate, which already includes two GOP heavyweights, Cornyn and Paxton.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0State Fair of Texas will no longer provide free tickets to high school students<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

Starting this year, high school students will no longer have access to free tickets to the State Fair of Texas.<\/p>\n

In a statement to\u00a0WFAA, an event spokesperson attributed the change to cost and safety. Of the 2 million free tickets printed each year, only about 10% are used, and printing and distributing the tickets is expensive, they say.<\/p>\n
