I couldn\u2019t do it,\u201d O\u2019Donnell told Langbroek, adding that she \u201chad to stand by her and hold her hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rosie O\u2019Donnell still thinks about her \u201cpainful\u201d fallout with once-close friend Ellen DeGeneres. No Filter\/YouTube<\/p>\n<p>But according to the actress, DeGeneres, 67, \u201cnever really \u2026 appreciated that moment.\u201d She pointed to the \u201cLarry King Live\u201d appearance in question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he asked her, \u2018What ever happened to Rosie O\u2019Donnell? Her show went down the tubes,&#8217;\u201d O\u2019Donnell recalled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Ellen said, \u2018I don\u2019t know Rosie. We\u2019re not friends.\u2019 And that was one of the most painful things that ever happened to me in show business and my life. I couldn\u2019t believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Langbroek asked why DeGeneres said that, the \u201cLeague of Their Own\u201d star lamented, \u201cI don\u2019t know, because I have photos of her holding my newborn babies. I knew her for 30 years. \u2026 It was very painful, and we\u2019ve never gotten over it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Donnell recalled standing by DeGeneres\u2019 side when the latter came out as gay on her \u201cRosie O\u2019Donnell Show,\u201d which ran from 1996 to 2002, which inspired the former to come out as well. Moreover, the \u201cFinding Nemo\u201d star didn\u2019t ask O\u2019Donnell to appear on her \u201cEllen DeGeneres Show,\u201d which ran from 2003 to 2022, until 2009.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd instead of deciding to stand next to me and hold my hand, which is what I did to her, she did the opposite. And I couldn\u2019t believe it,\u201d O\u2019Donnell said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the demise of DeGeneres\u2019 talk show following allegations that she <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2020\/08\/20\/ellen-degeneres-increasing-employee-perks-amid-scandal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mistreated her staff<\/a>, O\u2019Donnell opined, \u201cI knew the way she treated me must be the way she treats others, and I felt very betrayed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But according to O\u2019Donnell, DeGeneres \u201cnever really \u2026 appreciated that moment.\u201d She pointed to the \u201cLarry King Live\u201d appearance in question. And I hope you can forgive me.\u2019 That\u2019s what I would\u2019ve done,\u201d O\u2019Donnell told Langbroek.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I think in her mind, she thinks I keep rehashing it for pleasure. I don\u2019t rehash it for pleasure; I rehash it because our careers have taken parallel interwoven paths \u2014 we\u2019re gay talk show hosts, and we\u2019re around the same age \u2014 so people would always ask me about it.
