{"id":215959,"date":"2025-09-10T16:43:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T16:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/215959\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T16:43:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T16:43:09","slug":"pere-rene-de-galinee-catholic-secondary-closed-wednesday-after-social-media-threats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/215959\/","title":{"rendered":"P\u00e8re-Ren\u00e9-de-Galin\u00e9e Catholic Secondary closed Wednesday after social media threats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>P\u00e8re-Ren\u00e9-de-Galin\u00e9e Catholic Secondary School in Cambridge has been closed for an investigation early morning on Wednesday because of threats made on social media.<\/p>\n<p>In a notice sent to parents and guardians from the Conseil Scolaire Catholique MonAvenir school board, it says the school had to be closed because of &#8220;a serious situation &#8230; currently the subject of a police investigation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cherri Greeno, spokesperson for the Waterloo Regional Police Service, says detectives were investigating a threat made against the school.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are investigating after social media threats were made to cause harm to students within the school on [Wednesday]. Officers will be present at the school as they continue to investigate and to determine the validity of the threats,&#8221; she told CBC News.<\/p>\n<p>All school buses going to the school were also cancelled Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>School members received &#8216;threatening message&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Marion Denonfoux is the school board&#8217;s communications advisor.
