Andy Cohen<\/a> is admitting to dabbling in the world of weight loss drugs.<\/p>\n

The “Real Housewives” executive producer opened up about “micro-dosing” on an unnamed GLP-1 weight loss drug<\/a> on his SiriusXM radio show “Andy Cohen Live<\/a>,” which he said led him to lose “a good chunk of weight.”<\/p>\n

“I was really unhappy with my weight,” he told listeners on air Tuesday, Sept. 9. “My doctor and I talked about this last year. (He) had recommended a GLP-1 a few times to not only address what I was feeling about my weight, but treat plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure.”<\/p>\n

Cohen, 57, suggested he felt hesitant about trying weight loss drugs, but “finally said yes.” He says the “revolutionary” drug \u2013 in combination with a “pretty rigorous” workout routine \u2013 curbed his snacking and led him to lose 25 pounds. He has since stopped using the drug, he said.<\/p>\n

Several stars \u2013 including Serena Williams<\/a>, Rosie O’Donnell<\/a>, Oprah Winfrey<\/a> and Kelly Clarkson<\/a> \u2013 have touted weight loss drugs like Ozempic<\/a>, Mounjaro<\/a>, Wegovy<\/a>, Zepbound<\/a> and other injectable prescription medicines.<\/p>\n

The “Watch What Happens Live” host said he knew he would disclose his use of the weight loss drug because of the nature of his work.<\/p>\n

“I feel so strongly that I can’t be the one asking all the personal questions of, specifically, the Housewives. ‘What did you do to your face? How did you do the weight loss?’ And then be the guy who’s suddenly lost 25 pounds but isn’t mentioning it,” he said.<\/p>\n

Cohen acknowledged he is “privileged to have access to a GLP-1” and that “everybody should through insurance.”<\/p>\n

Mounjaro\u00a0currently sells for $1,079.77 per prescription<\/a>, according to the Lilly website, though the final retail price may vary depending on insurance coverage. Wegovy<\/a> and Ozempic<\/a>, the weight loss medications made by Novo Nordisk, are currently listed at $499 per monthly dose for the uninsured. The drugs are often covered by insurance<\/a>\u00a0for people who have diabetes.<\/p>\n
